Vampire Weekend // “Everlasting Arms”
Hold me in your everlasting arms.
Looked up, full of fear,
Trapped beneath the chandelier that’s going down

The Spinto Band | Shake It Off
Cool Cocoon, the latest album from the fun-loving Delaware band, starts off with this rather joyful breakup song which utilizes the lost, forgotten art of the key change! I’ve long been hoping for a resurgence of that great tool on the musician’s belt - but I digress. This is a delightful, perfect-for-Saturday track that gets me pretty excited for the new music.
Look for Cool Cocoon on February 5th, and pick up this track via the website in the meantime.

“I thought I understood it, that I could grasp it, but I didn’t, not really. Only the smudginess of it; the pink-slippered, all-containered, semi-precious eagerness of it. I didn’t realize it would sometimes be more than whole, that the wholeness was a rather luxurious idea. Because it’s the halves that halve you in half. I didn’t know, don’t know, about the in-between bits; the gory bits of you, and the gory bits of me.”
